Dysport™ is a series of facial injections designed to improve the look of moderate to severe facial frown lines and wrinkles between the eyebrows. Over time, repeated movement of the facial skin by the forehead muscles forms lines between the eyebrows. Frown lines happen because of the way a person's face moves.
Because frown lines are created by facial movements, such as frowning or squinting, they may develop even in younger adults. Dysport™ facial treatments are used to reduce frown lines in patients between the ages of 18 and 65.
How Does Dysport™ Work?
The muscles in the treated area above and between the eyebrows contract and tighten, and can cause wrinkles. Dysport™ blocks the nerve signal that causes these facial muscles to contract. This ultimately results in a localized reduction of muscle activity in the treated area and stops the tightening of these muscles. Effective facial treatment requires 1 injection into each of the 5 points between and over the eyebrows.
